England-Scotland June 28th - July 7th 2010

An Estonian friend visited me with her fiancee. We travelled from Birmingham to Scotland. Starting on Monday, we went to Peak District, had a little walk and then went to stay with her friend near Manchester. On Tuesday, we spent some time locally, again walking. On Wednesday, we abandoned the confort of sleeping in a bed and started camping. On Lake District we met some people who thought that I must be a student as there is no other reason to live in Birmingham than to study. We also visited Beatrix Potter museum (I am afan of Peter the Rabbit!).
Next day was British and too rainy, so we spent the morning in a pencil museum. Camping near Glasgow, then near Fort William, ready for heights. Unfortunately, the weather was toooooooo bad, rainy, windy and not nice at all and we could not walk up Ben Nevis. I need to go back! We did some more camping and reached Edinburgh, where my friends abandoned me. They continued travelling by car, but I had to take a train back to Birmingham, as my Mum was flying to visit me in Birmingham next day. Staying in a hostel in Edinburgh, I went on a most fantastic tour with New Europe. Train back took only 4 hours. Te next day, Mum's flight was cancelled and she actually arrived after my friends had arrived in Birmingham to give me the tent and other things I did not need in the hostel.
