After I got my exam results, I went to Spain to visit a friend from school who is doing science in Spain, in Lleida. First night was her birthday and I learnt the most important word in Spanish - sandia. We also ate lots of sandia during the following days.
This trip was special, as I could go on a field trip with her to Valencia and Delta del Ebre. At the beginning of the trip we listened to a long lecture (3h) about insects who like eating oranges and lemons. Surprisingly, without any knowledge of Spanish, the lecture was easy to follow, especially when concentrating on the words similar to English or trying to understand what is on the x or y axis of a graph.
We went to a plantation to find different insects.
Esto es larva de ....... (insert a name in Latin)!
Trampa de feromona.
Rendimiento
In addition to citrus, we also went to rice fields at Delta del Ebre.
Back at home, I went to Tarragona to see the beach and walk around, while my host was busy with school. The last part showed me that travelling alone is also quite fun
